As the title suggests, it is a coming-of-age romantic comedy featuring heroines who have (or will have) their hearts broken and a protagonist who watches over them as a friend.
Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, as the author, Amamori, is from that city.
Names of places, stores, and products that actually exist in and around the city appear in the story.
The model for the high school attended by the main characters seems to be Aichi Prefectural Jishakukan High School, as it is depicted as having Aichi University (Toyohashi campus) nearby.
In addition, to commemorate the release of the third volume, a collaborative event was held at the city's zoo and botanical garden "Nonpoi Park" from April 23 (Saturday) to May 29, 2022.
In addition, a crossover event with JR Tokai and a general election for losing heroines was held during the spring vacation period in 2023. JR Tokai also has a stake in the TV anime mentioned below, albeit through an affiliate company.
TV Anime
On December 24, 2023, it was announced that the series would be adapted into an animated television series.
From July 2024, it will be broadcast on Chukyo TV and Yomiuri TV (both affiliated with NTV), BS11, and about 3 independent stations in the Kanto region, as well as on AT-X. Animation production is by A-1 Pictures.
According to an official of Shogakukan, the publisher of the series, "Actually, the idea of making an anime version of the series came up when the first volume of the series was about to be released.
Story
Kazuhiko Nukumizu, whose hobby is reading light novels, witnesses his classmate Anna Yanami's heartbreak while she is rejected by her childhood friend.
Because Anna ate greedily and didn't have a wallet, she began a strange habit of having someone make her lunch every day to pay for it back.
The two of them are surrounded by "losing heroine" who, like Anna, are likely to suffer heartbreak, such as Lemon Yakishio from the track and field club and Chika Komari from the literature club.
