USS Lexington CV-2 was an Lexington Class aircraft carrier of the US Navy. Originally built as a battlecruiser, the Lexington was converted into a Carrier due to the Washington Treaty. Lexington was the first US fleet carrier to be sunk in World War II, during the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942.
