    • W.I.T.C.H. is a 2001 Italian comic book series created and published by Disney's Italian department, which spawned a French-created cartoon in 2004. The series takes its name from an acronym of its 5 main characters: Will Vandom, Irma Lair, Taranee Cook, Cornelia Hale, and Hay Lin.


    Similar to magical girl anime, the 5 girls attend the same school when they discover that they have become the guardians of the alternate dimension of Kandrakar, with elemental transformation forms, fairy wings, and characteristic purple and green clothes.
