Tangled is a 2010 CGI-animated Walt Disney Pictures movie, starring Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in their shared attempts to flee from Mother Gothel who had kept Rapunzel imprisoned for 18 years, and Flynn being wanted for criminal activities. Rapunzel's side of the movie is loosely based on Brothers Grimm's German tale Rapunzel that was published in 1812.
The movie was succeeded by the 2012 short film Tangled Ever After, and the 2017-20 Disney Channel cartoon Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, both of which expand on what happened to the characters after the movie.
