Circle cut (サークルカット) refers to a description of the contents of distribution and genre trends at a doujinshi by a doujin circle exhibiting at the convention in a standardized frame with illustrations and text to promote it.
Circle cut (サークルカット, sākuru katto) is a index for participants of doujinshi auctions (hereafter referred to as a "catalog"). The most famous examples are the Comiket catalog and various other websites.
The catalogs of doujinshi sales shows the tendency and distribution outline of each circle by arranging the circle cuts in the order in which the circles are arranged, and by using pictures and text.
It is a showcase of each circle's skills how to express the characteristics of their circles within this frame, and since it also serves as a kind of advertisement, it is also important in terms of advance publicity.
