Overview
Pants (ズボン, zubon), also known as trousers, are a type of clothing worn on the lower half of the body. They are divided into two parts at the inseam and wrap around one leg at a time.
The name for pants is said to have been derived from the French word jupon, meaning petticoat, or from the fact that they "sliding into place".
Skirts are generally reserved for women, but pants can be worn by both men and women.
They are also called pantsu or shorts (short for short pants) in Japanese. On pixiv, however, this tag is more often used to refer to underwear.
