Overview
Psychological trauma(心的外傷, shinteki gaishō), often shorten to just trauma (トラウマ, torauma) is a negative emotion or a behavior that comes from a traumatizing experience.
The etymology of the word comes from the Greek word meaning wound.
In 1917, the Austrian psychologist Freud used the term trauma to mean psychological trauma, and so the word came to be used as it is today.
That said, there are some who argue that it is not a word to be used lightly, so people will urge caution in its use.
