Overview
Vertebrate (脊椎動物, sekitsuidoubutsu) are animals with a vertebrae (backbone), including us humans. They have an endoskeleton such as a vertebrae, and by developing muscles in this skeleton, they are able to move quickly, and in general, many species are large in size. However, the concentration of nerves in the spine makes it a very dangerous structure.
Of these, mammals and birds are the only thermostatic animals on earth that can maintain a constant body temperature. However, the boundary between mammals and birds is unclear, as mammals such as the platypus are not thermostatic enough, and thermostatic behavior has been proposed in sharks and red sunfish. Mammals lay eggs, but many mammals and some sharks have acquired embryonic life and give birth directly to their young.
