Overview
Twintails (ツインテール Tsuintēru) is a type of hairstyle where the hair is tied on two sides of the head and left hanging down. From a Western perspective, it can be described as a "double ponytail."
Twintails is a popular hairstyle in Japanese media.

There are three ways that "Twintails" (ツインテール) is used on Pixiv:
- A type of hairstyle. As described above.

Moreover, some pictures have been uploaded to draw attention that the three above are often interpreted the same way, and some have been given specific tags such as The Twin Tail Pose and Twin Tail's Twin Tails.
Such many of these works are often tagged under the "Twinte" (ツインテ) abbreviation.
Therefore, if you simply search "ツインテール" on the search bar, you might miss certain illustrations.
As a workaround, try searching "ツインテ " and "ツインテール" together as a partial search to get the most consistent results.
Considering that it wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the abbreviations of "Twinte" (ツイテー) and "TwiTail" (ツイテル), it's a fortunate that these abbreviations have existed to begin with.
