Ib is a 9-year-old girl spotting a long brown hair and natural red eyes. While her name is pronounced as "Eve", her name is written (and officially romanized) as Ib.
Ib is first seen going to the art museum with her parents for the "Guertena exhibition". After looking at a certain painting, she suddenly entered in an alternate world within the art museum.
The red rose she picked up inside the alternate world symbolizes her life force, and will die if all of the petals have scattered. The rose color is set in a way that it matches her attire (red scarf, and red skirt), and according to the website, her official profile listed her as a character from a noble family. She is also seen holding a handkerchief, given to her as a birthday present from her mum.
Personality
Ib is a silent protagonist. She never speaks a word in the game, but it is also interesting to note that Ib rarely ever show any expression (although she is not entirely emotionless).
She is described by fans to be an obedient and early matured girl, as seen when her mum told her not to cause any ruckus in the museum, though later note that there is no need to worry about her. Due to her obedient nature, she is assumed by fans to be a girl who maintained calm throughout the whole game and does not show any fears unless necessary.
She also likes her parents very much, especially her mother.
