Overview
Apple Inc., also known as just Apple (アップル, Appuru) is an American multinational corporation that designs and markets consumer electronics, computer software, and personal computers. The company's best-known hardware products include the Macintosh line of computers, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad.
Company Name
The company name is said to have been chosen because the founder, Steve Jobs, was a fan of The Beatles, or because it comes above Atari in the alphabetical phone book, but what is clear is that Jobs named the company. There was once a court battle with Apple Corps (Apple Inc., U.K.), which was founded by The Beatles, over the company name.
