Overview

Bryan Lee O'Malley (ブライアン・リー・オマリー), born in Canada in 1979, is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies.

In 2003, he published his first comic book, Lost at Sea, with Oni Press in the U.S., where he also did illustrations and lettering. From 2004 to 2010, he published the six-volume Scott Pilgrim series, which became his breakthrough work.

The series has attracted attention for its unique style, in which modern society and the world of video games seem to coexist, and has made him a star in the Canadian comic book world. The series has been made into a movie and a video game.

The series has also been translated into Japanese and is very popular in Japan. The author himself has said that he is strongly inspired by Japanese manga and video games and draws inspiration from them.

He is also active as a musician.
