Overview
CLAMP (クランプ, kuranpu) is an all-female Japanese manga artist group consisting of leader and writer Nanase Ohkawa, and the three artists who shift roles from each work Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi.
Etymology
The name "Clamp" comes from a misspelling of the word "clump", in the sense of "a bunch of potatoes".
History
Originally, they were doujinshi artists, but later made their professional debut as a creative group.
The number of CLAMP members during the doujinshi period was larger than today (Tamayo Akiyama and others were members before), but due to various reasons, the current four members remain. Some of the works published during the doujinshi era include PRIDE and others.
