Cat reset (猫リセット, neko risetto) usually happens when a cat (especially, your cat) pressed the reset button on the video game console you are playing with.
Unlike the cases where gamer's mother or father push the reset button (or pull the plug out of the wall socket) that makes a gamer angry, cat reset doesn't necessary make gamer angry.
Recent video game consoles avoided such trauma due to their designs.
