Character Overview
Gai Tsutsugami is the 17-years old leader of the resistance group, "Funeral Parlor", and is partially a mentor, though not obvious, who guides Shu Ouma during his stay at the organization. He is highly charismatic, and has great physical strength, and seen during his fight with thugs on episode 1, handling them swiftly in no time.
Lying beneath his character is an individual where he actually holds some kind of an unknown "sickness" that requires periodical blood infusion from Inori two to three times each month. He also feels insecure sometimes, thinking that whether he actually has the right to be the leader of the group. He also has a degree of self sacrifice, as seen in episode 6 of the show.
He is also a risk taker, where he takes on plan and tries to aim and catch for the big fish instead of trying to advance one by one, slowly to reach his goals. Although his plan may sound reckless, his charisma is enough to motivate most of his team mates to move for him, and even gained some admiration from the girls in his organization, particularly Ayase Shinomiya .
Although Shu does not understand his charisma at first, he slowly found a respect in Gai as well, after interacting with him long enough.
Abilities
Gai Tsutsugami doesn't seem to have any super powers as of moment. Aside from having great charisma that gains the loyalty of his team mates, he also possess great physical strength - as seen when he uses Jeet Kun Do to fight off thugs, saving Shu. He is also agile, where he can avoid Daryl Yan's attacks fast enough to perform a counterattack, stopping his Endlave with only a gun.
