The Mikoyan MiG-31 Foxhound is a Soviet (now Russian) built interceptor that succeeded the MiG-25 Foxbat. The MiG-31 was originally operated by the Soviet PVO Strany before being operated by the Russian PVO Strany. In 1998, the PVO Strany was merged into the Russian Air Force.
