Overview

Mysterious light is a trope where a random beam of light appears out of nowhere to obscure parts of an imagery, mostly for censorship reasons or otherwise played for fun. It often appears in anime, but sometimes may appear in manga works.

These lights usually appear without any regard to logic, especially from where the light is being emitted. It usually appears in fan service scenes, such as Girls' baths and (maybe uncommon) blood and gore scenes; depictions of guro, dismemberment, and mutilated bodies.

MISSING: Omamori Himari-relation paragraph here.

As a subset of censorship, it may be absent from DVD/BD releases whereas the once-obscuring light will become natural lighting (or as some form of halation effect), although more adult-related parts, such as crotch shots, may remain as it is.
