Overview
Namepurei (舐めプレイ, namepurei) is a Japanese gaming term mainly in fighting games about going very easy on an opponent in a insulting way. Meaning lick play or rude play, The term comes from playing "sloppy" on purpose in a way to make fun of the opponent's skill level. It is derived from the archaic word nameshi (なめし, nameshi) meaning smooth/rude. It is often abbreviated to namepu.
Not all players do this in a bad manner but the word is mainly used for players that do.
The term can be used for other media such as a character doing the act in anime, manga, ect. Because of it's name it can also be a sexual term about licking (adding play at the end can mean engaging in a sexual act). Take this as caution when searching this word.
