Overview編集

Negima! Magister Negi Magi or Magical Teacher Negima! (魔法 先生 ネギま!) in Japan is a manga and anime series by Ken Akamatsu. Like Ken's previous work, Love Hina, this series also falls under the ecchi genre. But unlike Love Hina it became more serious and shifted to a action story in a fantasy world. This was decided from the beginning of the project by Ken.


The manga was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine from February 2003 to March 2012. It gotten a few animes such as Negima! by Xebec, Negima!? by SHAFT, and two OVAs have been released, produced by SHAFT and GANSIS.


Other media includes video games and Drama CDs.

Negi Springfield, a 10-year-old boy prodigy who graduated at the top of his class from the Merdiana Magic Academy in Wales, has a goal to become a Magister Magi(Latin for "Master Mage") and find his father Nagi Springfield, who has gone missing.


The assignment given to him to train for this is to become a English teacher at a school in Japan. He arrives at Mahora Academy as a substitute teacher for class 2/3-A, but his identity is immediately revealed to his student Asuna Kagurazaka from the very first day.
