    Sony Interactive Entertainment (ソニー・インタラクティブエンタテインメント, Sonī Intarakutibu Entateinmento), formerly Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (ソニー・コンピュータエンタテインメント) is a subsidiary of Sony Corporation and develops, manufactures, and sells home video game consoles and game software.

    It was established in 1993 in order for Sony to enter the video game business.

    SCEI was the abbreviated name of the company's former name with the new name using SIE as the abbreviated name.
