The manga was serialized in Big Comic Spirits from January 2000 to October 2001. Total of 7 volumes and 1 Tankōbon volume.
The TV anime Saishuu Heiki Kanojo (She, The Ultimate Weapon) by Gonzo was broadcast on Family Gekijo, CBC, and Television Hokkaido from July 2002 to September (or October) 2002.
The OVA Saishuu Heiki Kanojo: Another Love Song was released in 2005 in two volumes.
It also had a game also going by Saishuu Heiki Kanojo that was a vusial novel by Konami released on May 29, 2003 on PS2.
In January 2006, it was made into a live action movie, planned and produced by a subsidiary of Toei, with Chise played by Aki Maeda and Shuuji played by Yōsuke Kubozuka.
The content is different from the original story.
The story is set in Hokkaido, and can be considered a representative work of the Boy Meets Girl style, where a small encounter between a boy and his girlfriend leads to involvement in major world events. Due to the author's intention, the main characters do not have last names.
