Overview
Submission (投稿, tōkō) is sending a work to the agency in charge for the purpose of having it published in a magazine, newspaper, website, etc., or on TV or radio.
Usually (or rather, if you are a decent person), you submit your own work or as a proxy requested by a small child/elderly person.
Institutions that accept submissions, such as publishers, newspapers, websites, and broadcasters, have a person in charge of evaluating the submissions. After reviewing the submitted works, the person in charge decides whether or not to publish the work in the relevant work.
If a work is not published in the relevant work, it is called a lost.
Submission of illustrations, manga, novels, etc. to pixiv is not a "submission" in the strict sense of the word, but merely an "announcement," since there is no one in charge of assessing the work. However, considering that the authors themselves decide whether or not to publish their works on pixiv, this could be called a submission in that the author is also the person in charge of assessing the work.
In the pixiv Encyclopedia, it is possible to create and submit articles from "Submit an article" in the upper right corner of My Page.
