Overview
Tongue-Cut Sparrow "Hate for the Humble and Rich" (舌切雀「謙虚なる富者への片恨」, Shitakiri Suzume "Kenkyo naru Fusha he no Kataurami") is a spell card used by Parsee Mizuhashi, the second stage boss of Subterranean Animism, and is used only on easy and normal difficulty levels. On hard and above, the name is changed to Tongue-Cut Sparrow "Large Box and Small Box".
In outline, Parsee splits into two and one shoots a large ball while the other shoots a small ball. The one who fires the large ball is an imposter, and if the damage to the imposter exceeds a certain level, the alter ego disappears and a large number of bullets are fired back at the same time. The higher the difficulty level, the more dangerous it is because the amount and speed of the return fire increases, and care must be taken when using equipment with a wide range (such as Marisa with Alice).
As the name "Tongue-Cut" (舌切雀) suggests, it is based on an old Japanese tale, Tongue-Cut Sparrow (舌切り雀), it is a tale about jealousy coming from a wife of the old man who shared their food to a injured sparrow. This leads to the sparrow getting their tongue cut by the wife, and her greedy actions ends up leading to her demise.
