Overview
Asexual reproduction (無性生殖, musei seishoku) is a pattern of reproduction in which the parent organisms produce offspring alone without a partner. Its counterpart is sexual reproduction.
The most well-known examples are mitosis, budding, sporulation, and vegetative reproduction, but parthenogenesis in which development occurs without fertilization, also falls under this category.
It's common among unicellular organisms, some eukaryotes are unicellular organisms and can do this too.
Multicellular organisms, such as the volvox, starfish, and the Namek ailen. The sea anemone, also develops when a portion of its stomach wall is detached.
There are reptilian species (such as a type of agama, a type of snake, etc.) that do this kind of thing.
