Overview

Ears (耳, mimi) are part of the hearing organ of an organism, but also includes a wide range of clothing and other items that mimic the shape of the ear (earbuds, hearing aid, earplug, ect.).

Since most mammals, including humans, have ears protruding from their heads, paintings of faces usually include ears as well (unless they are hidden by hair or coverings). On top of this, paintings that dare to be tagged with ears include those in which the ears are conspicuously visible due to the composition or gestures, and those in which the size and shape of the ears are seen as a charm point.

The most common cases are those in which a humanoid character has ears similar in shape to those of a different creature, and the large number of derivative tags is also generally attributable to this.
