installation of living body parts

The assimilation of a living character into machinery.

This tag describes a living being's absorption or "installation" into a machine as a component. The most (in)famous example would be Raine Mikamura's installation as the Devil Gundam's core unit, as illustrated. The tag frequently overlaps with corruption, mechanization, and/or metal transformation. More specific examples:

  • Cybernetic fusion without consent.
  • Corruption by nanomachines (example: DG cells).
  • Mechanization that retains emphasis on organic body parts.

It bears re-emphasizing that the organic subject is typically unwilling, though not always, and is a visual focus of the scene. Guy Shishioh (cyborg, though living) combining with several machines to form GaoGaiGar (mecha) would not count, as he is fully concealed within the result. This tag is also not to be confused with R18 machines featuring someone trapped inside, as the person is not a component of the device.
