Overview
Society (社会) refers mainly to human society. Other than humans, highly intelligent animals that live in groups, such as monkeys , wolves, and insects that have developed instincts, such as ants and honeybees, also form societies.
Sardines and seals, which simply flock together for breeding and safety, are not included in the "society" category.
Of course, the societies of animals and different species in fantasy and science fiction have more or less differences from human societies.
The term is also commonly associated with community. Some animals that form societies are eusocial, which for now is defined as having a sterile hierarchy (such as worker ants).
