"I-It's not that I like you or anything, idiot!!"
Overview
Tsundere (ツンデレ) is Internet slang for a character who is usually "tsun tsun" (ツンツン, resentful and angry) and difficult to get along with. Under certain conditions (when a flag is established), they be "dere dere" (でれでれ, become gentle, show their true feelings).
However, as the expression of tsundere becomes more popular, it is increasingly used to refer to a "natural evil" who "intentionally adopts a tsundere attitude because they are 'embarrassed', even though they really likes that person," and some argue that this may be a mistake from the original meaning. However, since the meaning and usage of net slang are highly fluid, it is not a complete mistake to use the latter term.
It has long been said that "the more you like someone, the more you tsun tsun them in public," and this tsundere behavior is by no means a new psychological behavior. However, from the 1960s to the 1980s, there were many characters like Minami Asakura in Touch who were the image of a longed-for Madonna. In the early 1980s, Urusei Yatsura and other blockbuster hits led to the popularity of the wife-like character, so this type of character did not appear in the public eye very often.
