Denji (デンジ, Denji) is the protagonist of the Chainsaw Man series.
Background
Denji started as a boy who worked as a non-regular devil hunter to pay off the debts of his father.
When he was being pressed by the yakuza to "pay back the money or pay with his life" for a debt left by his father who died when he was young, he meets Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil who was injured, and gives him blood to save him. At the same time, Pochita also makes a deal to help Denji and chooses to become a devil hunter to pay off his debt.
