Overview
X (エックス, Ekkusu) is a shoot 'em up using wireframe graphics on the Game Boy, and is an ambitious attempt to reproduce 3D space on the Game Boy's CPU specs without a custom chip.
Although X was initially treated as an action game, it is in fact an shoot 'em up by all accounts.
It was developed by the British developer Argonaut Games, whose 3D shoot 'em up technology was later used in Star Fox.
The game is based on a mission-based system, and the number of medals earned is required to complete a new mission or continue.
