Overview

E-123 Omega (E-123 オメガ, Ī Wan-Tsū-Surī Omega) is the final lot number of the E-100 series robots built by Dr. Eggman, and the most powerful. His behavior and design as well as his personality have changed slightly from work to work.

Background

Sonic Heroes

He was injured at the end of Sonic Adventure 2 and was sealed up at the base with Shadow, since he was created to support Shadow, who was revived in a medical care capsule, and to deter him when he went out of control.

However, Omega himself is unaware of this and harbors suspicions toward Dr. Eggman, who did not value him despite the fact that he is the complete work (masterpiece) of the E-series, and suddenly runs amok, destroys the facility where he and Shadow were sealed, and escapes. He aims to prove himself "the strongest" by destroying all of Dr. Eggman's robots, and to get back at Dr. Eggman for containing him.

Omega's line, "Gamma and Beta are inferior to robots with their battle record data......" suggests that he considers Gamma and Beta to be rivals.

Therefore, although he is Dr. Eggman's robot, he later becomes an ally of Sonic and his friends, and forms Team Dark with Shadow and Rouge. Although they did not get along with Shadow and his team at first, they gradually developed a relationship of trust, and the three of them often work together in later works.

In fact, there is a theory that it was not Dr. Eggman who sealed Omega, but a mastermind, and even if that were not the case, Dr. Eggman could not go to meet the revived Shadow and Omega because he was imprisoned. Later, when Dr. Eggman and Sonic share a common enemy, and when Dr. Eggman embarks on world domination, they have yet to reconcile, and Sonic comes to their side as an ally.
