The North American F-86 Sabre is a swept wing fighter aircraft developed in the late 1940s. The F-86 was operated by many air forces across the world including the USAF, JASDF, ROCAF, ROKAF, RAAF and RCAF.
During the Korean War, the F-86 helped the USAF combat the MiG-15. The Sabre was also the first aircraft to use an air to air missile in combat when in September 1958, a ROCAF F-86 shot down a PLAAF MiG with an AIM-9B Sidewinder.
