Overview
Pokémon X and Y (ポケットモンスター X・Y, Poketto Monsutā X Y) is a game in the Pokémon series and is the sixth generation in the generation.
It is abbreviated as XY and Pokémon XY by fans.
The announcement was made by then Nintendo President Iwata in a video broadcast over the Internet in the form of a Nintendo Direct on January 8, 2013. This was the first time that the latest Pokémon game was announced in this manner.
The director of this game is Junichi Masuda, the same one behind Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Black and White.
