Akane Sawatari (デンジ, Sawatari Akane) is a character from the Chainsaw Man series. She was a former civilian devil hunter, she works with the Gun Devil to supply guns to members of the Yakuza in exchange for 20,000 yen. Akane and the Yakuza is also after Denji's heart, which has been fused with the Chainsaw Devil, although the purpose is unknown. She also cooperates with Katana Man, who is also after Denji, and has implanted and remodeled his heart to the Katana Devil. Together, they attacked the Public Safety Devil Hunters Section 1 to 4.

Appearance

Akane is a young woman with red snake-like eyes and short blonde hair with dark brown roots that reaches her neck. She wears a red oversized hoodie and short black shorts where her hands are in the pockets of her hoodie. Her orange and white Nike Air Max 97 can make some viewers of the series notice that the setting takes place in the 90's.

Personality

She has a calm and collected personality, and in the series, she and Katana Man were one step ahead of Denji and the others. She is usually shown with a neutral or bored expression.

Snake Devil

The Snake Devil has a mouth that looks like a large number of intertwined human arms and a body like a serpent without scales.

It is highly agile, and like the Fox Devil, it can summon and control its main body by Akane using hand signs and words, but it can also unleash a variety of attacks, such as swallowing the target whole or slapping its tail.

It has jaws that look like intertwined human arms, perhaps a symbol of greed, and has the ability to take other demons it swallows and make them its own.

Each time she invokes it, she has to pay a price. When it swallows its victim, she is described as having four fingernails, and when it spits it out, she is described as bleeding from the nose.
