Overview

Apex Legends (エーペックスレジェンズ) is a 2019 free FPS game that is an offshoot of the Titanfall series. This item will be described together with the smartphone and tablet version, Apex Legends Mobile.

Gameplay

The essence of the game is the same as battle royale games such as PUBG, where many players descend on an island, collect weapons, fight, and survive to the end. However, Apex Legends is different from other battle royale games in several ways.

Team Battle

While other battle royale games are based on a solo mode with about 100 players per game, Apex is played with 20 squads of 3 players per team, with a maximum of 60 players. This trio mode, in which three players fight in a team, is the basic mode in Apex.

However, only in casual matches, there is a duo mode with two players per team. A solo mode was once implemented for a limited time, but due to bias in character selection, there are no plans to bring back the solo mode.

Respawn

In conventional battle royale games, the game ends when the player runs out of energy and goes into spectator mode, but in this game, an item called a banner can be retrieved from an ally's death box and used on respawn beacons scattered around the map to revive the player.
