Overview
Electronic Arts (エレクトロニック・アーツ), abbreviated as EA, is a major video game manufacturer in the United States founded in 1982. Until around 1999, the company used a graphic logo □○△ (□ for E, △ for A), which was sometimes mislabeled as "EOA" in magazines.
In its early years, EA was a publisher specializing in PC games, but in the late 1980s it began developing its own software, and in the 1990s it entered the home video game market.
The company is a game maker that mainly sells action and sports games.
The company's best-known titles include Theme Park, The Sims, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, and Dead Space. The company has also worked on many Western works, such as Star Wars and Die Hard.
