First published as a quarterly magazine by Shogakukan in 1977, it became the current Monthly Corocoro Comic in 1979. It is also known for its younger siblings, Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special and CoroCoro Ichiban! and its older brother, CoroCoro G, but many people have the strongest impression of the monthly Monthly Corocoro Comic when they hear the name CoroCoro Comic.
