Gainax Pose
0
Gainax Pose is synonymous with the 'robots that gradually rise up and appear', a house specialty of the animation production company GAINAX.
The "Gainax Pose" (ガイナ立ち, Gaina Dachi 'Gainax Standing') is a pose in which a character rises up with both arms crossed in an imposing standing posture.
This pose has its roots in the launching pose of Gunbuster (from [[[GAINAX]]'s 1989 OVA "Aim for the Top! GunBuster" ).
Therefore, the original Gainax pose is a series of movements up to the point where the character rises up with their arms crossed in an imposing stance.
Nowadays, the term refers to the distinctive pose shown in GAINAX characters, or in productions that look like them (as seen in Trigger works, which are in the GAINAX tradition).
The crossed-armed Niō-style pose itself is a common pose, so angles and screen effects are also included as above.
