Overview
Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise (王立宇宙軍 オネアミスの翼, Ōritsu Uchūgun: Oneamisu no Tsubasa) is an theatrical animation work produced by Gainax in 1987.
It is a space development story set on "another Earth" different from here.
At the time, Gainax had just been founded and was a fairly young company with most of the participating staff in their 20s, including director Hiroyuki Yamaga, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and Hideaki Anno. Ryuichi Sakamoto was appointed as music director for the production.
Although the film did not achieve high box-office revenues, it is still very popular today for its meticulously created world concept, high-quality artwork, realistic space development scenes and its high degree of perfection.
Around 1986, it was one of the leading titles in the monthly Newtype magazine, which also published a production diary entitled 'My name is Shirotsugu'.
