Overview
Light novel by MF Bunko J (Kadokawa). The author is Kei Sazane and the illustrations by Toiro Tomose.
The subtitle of the web version and the first volume of the book is “The Ultimate Brain Battle of the Boy Who Challenges the Gods".
Originally serialized on the novel submission site Kakuyom in September 2020, the book was published in 2021.
In 2022, it was ranked 9th in the overall new works category of “This Light Novel is Amazing! ranked it 9th in the overall new works category and 15th in the paperback category.
In August 2021, a manga version of the series was published by Monthly Comic Alive. It is drawn by Kapiko Toriumi.
It has also been made into an animated TV series.
Story
Mankind vs. Gods: The Supreme Fantasy Brain Battle
The ultimate brain game created by supreme gods with too much time on their hands.
Winning ten games of "The Game of the Gods" would be an enormous blessing bestowed upon mankind. But there have been no winners in history.
This is because the game created by the gods is capricious, very unreasonable, and sometimes incomprehensible!

- Fay Theo Philus (Voice Actor: Nobunaga Shimazaki)
The protagonist of this work. He is still undefeated in the “Play of the Gods” series. He is expected to be "the best rookie" in recent years.
- Dragon God Leoleshea (Voice Actress: Akari Kitou)
The heroine of this work. Her nickname is Lèche. She is a game-loving former goddess who inadvertently slept in the ice for 3,000 years.
- Pearl Diamond (Voice Actress: Hina Tachibana)
She is an apostle girl who is a teleporter, a person with the ability to shift from one place to another.
- Nel Reckless (Voice Actress: Kanna Nakamura)
She is a former apostle girl who has already retired after three defeats in the “Play of the Gods”. Impressed by Fay, she approaches him to see if they can cooperate in some way.
Anime
Broadcast from April to June 2024 on TOKYOMX, Sun TV, AT-X, KBS Kyoto, and BS Nittele. Animation production is by Raiden Film. It consists of 13 episodes and depicts the contents up to the middle of the fourth volume of the original work (the “Labyrinth of Death and Rebirth: Rusheimare” chapter).
