Overview

The character was first announced at Tech Days 2010, during September 28 to 30, 2011 as a campaign character. During the event, stickers along with other assorted goods were distributed during the event. Silverlight desktop accessory were also distributed 2 months later, November, for free.

At December 2010, the page was updated with the christmas version of the site where 3 more new characters introduced : Yuu Aizawa, Aoi Aizawa, and Rei Aizawa, along with their profiles.

The character is well received amongst the Japanese otakus community, describing her as a "healing character with an angel face", and also shown their respect to Taiwanese for being able to create such a character.

Although, there is no saying on how the mascot will be developed, but it seems that Microsoft Taiwan is serious about the development.

There are also rumors where Silverlight will be obsolete due to the popularity of the software being not too well received, the fanart submissions for the character however did not stop.

On the other hand, There also exist fanarts of the Hetalia character, Anxious Girl cosplaying Hikaru, due to the representation of the character as well as Hikaru's birthplace : both of them are from Taiwan.
