Outlaw Star

An anime from the 1990s that first aired in the United States as part of the Cartoon Network action block Toonami. It is based on the manga by Takehiko Ito, which was never officially localized.

Outlaw Star (星方武侠アウトロースター, Seihō Bukyō Outlaw Star, lit. "Starward Warrior Knight Outlaw Star") is a TV anime series produced by Sunrise that aired on TV Tokyo in 1998 and a manga series written by Takehiko Ito and serialised in Ultra Jump (published by Shueisha).


It is a space opera produced as the maiden work of the then newly established 10th Studio at Sunrise, and is based on the story of manga artist Takehiko Ito. Total of 26 episodes.


The world of the story is set in an era when humans were expanding into space and Overseas Chinese (Huáqiáo), the pioneers of this expansion, formed a vast intergalactic network, which gives the overall scenery a Chinese atmosphere.
