Overview
September (9月, kugatsu, lit. "ninth month") is the ninth month of the year. The month of late summer after a hot summer.
In school culture, September is the beginning of the 2nd semester in Japan and the start of the school year in countries where September is the beginning of the school year.
The month of the end of summer holidays. The month in which the Mid-Autumn Festival (Otsukimi) is held.
In the traditional Japanese term for the month, it is called 'Nagatsuki'.
