Overview編集

Strinova is an anime-style third-person shooter developed by Day1 Studio of iDreamSky using Unreal Engine 4. This game is the worldwide version of “CalabiYau (卡拉彼丘)” which was launched in China in August 2023, published by iDreamSky and Tencent Games.

Its primary mechanic, the ability to turn into paper, offers a brand new dimension in the shooter genre, both figuratively and literally.

Exhibit at Tokyo Game Show 2024編集

At the Tokyo Game Show 2024 (TGS2024) in September 2024, we set up a booth in Hall 4-S01, where we held exhibition matches with famous streamers, exchanges with cosplayers, and test plays.

In addition, at Kaihin-Makuhari Station on the JR East Keiyo Line, the closest station to Makuhari Messe, the venue for TGS2024, a large floor advertisement depicting characters was placed.

Game System編集

Characters and weapons are fixed in all game modes with the exception of secondary armaments, which can be changed.

Sidestep編集

In the multidimensional world where the game takes place, characters can change into a flat form called “sidestep.” By sidestep during battle, they can move through walls, fly, and reduce the area hit by bullets from certain directions.

String Energy Network編集

As described in detail below, “Energy Points” are earned when a kill is made or a round is completed. These points can be used to purchase perks (buffs) in the “String Energy Network” before the start of the round. In addition, the contents of the String Energy Network vary from character to character.

String Energy Network and energy points are reset at the time of offensive and defensive changes.

In a way, this system is similar to purchasing weapons in games such as VALORANT.

Attribute編集

The perk has three attributes.

  • Blue□ : Mainly strengthens the main weapon. Cost 150 points each.
  • Yellow 〇: Enhances passive and active skills. Cost 250 points each.
  • Green ▽: Strengthens armor and stringing. Cost 250 points each.

Blue □ Increases damage, changes shooting mode, changes scope magnification, strengthens magazine, and increases bullet-collecting rate, etc., depending on the character.

Awakening編集

Awakening” is a feature that further enhances active and passive skills.

To activate “Awakening,” one must possess a certain number of the specified attributes.

For example, Michelle's “Awakening3: Whisker Bond” can be released with 3 blue □, 1 yellow 〇, and 1 green ▽.

However, in the case of Escorts, Energy Points are also used to release awakenings.

Only one of the two awakenings, awakening 2 and 3, can be activated.

If both activation conditions have been met, the user can change which one to use at any time from the string power amplification network screen.

Awakenings are reset at the point of offensive or defensive change.

Game Modes編集

Demolition編集

Demolition is a so-called bomb placement and disarmament battle.

It is a 5-on-5 mode with 2 minutes per round, and although it is possible to bring back a knocked-down ally, a dead ally cannot return in that round, except with the character's skills.

In Normal Mode, the fight lasts eight rounds, four rounds each in the first and second halves, with the winner taking the first five rounds.

In Ranked Mode, the match consists of 16 rounds of 8 rounds each in the front and back halves, with the winner taking the first 9 rounds.

However, if both teams have won the same number of rounds at the end of all rounds, “overtime” will be played if four or more players wish to continue after a 10-person general vote. Overtime consists of two rounds, one round of attack and one round of defense, for both teams.

Victory conditions for the Attacker (The Scissors) side編集

  • Annihilate the Defenders.
  • Place a bomb in the area and detonate it. (Regardless of whether the Attacker is dead or alive.)

Victory conditions for the Defender (PUS)side編集

  • The attacker is annihilated.
  • The attacker cannot place a bomb within the time limit.
  • Disarm the placed bomb before it explodes.

Team Deathmatch編集

Team Deathmatch is literally a deathmatch.

Five teams of 15 players, each consisting of three players, compete against each other, and the time limit is 15 minutes. There is no knockdown.

When a player dies, he or she immediately respawns in a relatively sparsely populated area.

Victory Conditions編集

  • Teams must get 50 kills first.
  • The team is within the top three teams in total kills when either team has 50 kills.
  • Teams are within the top 3 in total kills when the time limit is reached.

Escort編集

Escort is an offensive and defensive battle over a single transport vehicle.

It is 5-on-5 and the time limit increases as the transport arrives at the checkpoint. Unlike Demolition, there is no knockdown, but a 20-second cycle respawn wave from a resurrection point.

Victory conditions for the attacker (The Scissors) side編集

  • Push the transport vehicle to the end of the line.

Victory conditions for the defender (PUS) side編集

  • Must not push the transport vehicle to the checkpoint or the end of the line within the time limit.
