Overview
Sugar (砂糖, satō / シュガー) is a seasoning made by refining the liquid obtained by squeezing sweet-tasting plants (sugarcane, sugar beet, sugar maple, sugar palm, etc.).
The main ingredient is sucrose, a combination of glucose and fructose.
In addition to being used as an ingredient in confectionery, it is also used as a secret ingredient in cooking and as a sweetener for tea and coffee.
