Overview
Whisper the Wolf (ウィスパー・ザ・ウルフ, Wisupā za Urufu) is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series by IDW Publishing. She is a shy wolf who wears a mask and speaks in a whispering voice.
Her name is a double-meaning of Whisp+er as in Wisp and Whisper.
Background
Past
It was shown in the Tangle & Whisper miniseries that she was part of a team known as the Diamond Cutters, a mercenary group against the Eggman Empire. The group was disbanded when one of the members, Mimic, betrayed them leading to their death. Mimic and Whisper end up being the only surviving ones.
Present
During the Sonic Forces era, she was active on the battlefield, and was nicknamed Guardian Angel (ガーディアンエンジェル) by Silver and the resistance.
Personality
Whisper is a shy and withdrawn lone wolf who sometimes hides her face with her mask. She is a very soft-spoken that she speaks in a whispering voice and says very few words. Being a former member of the Diamond Cutters her skills as a soldier makes her able to do a lot of missions alone.
Abilities
She fights by borrowing the power of Wisps and manipulating special Wisps. They can be used with her weapon, the Variable Wispon. It somewhat works like the Wispon the avatar character uses in Sonic Forces but with multiple Wisps.
