Overview
Windows 7 is an operating system first released on July 22nd, 2009, and to the general public on October 22nd, 2009. It built off of many of the same features introduced in Windows Vista, upgrading them and improving them to be more stable. Windows 7 also introduced multi-touch support, an updated shell, and the HomeGroup networking system. Windows 7, unlike XP and Vista, did not feature many Microsoft programs (such as Movie Maker and Photo Gallery) standard, but instead as part of a free download named Windows Essentials.
