Overview編集

OS girl (OS娘, OS musume) is a common name for personified women characters of any OS that originated from Nijiura.

Although there was no distinction between OS-girl and OS-tan, in Nijiura, the birthplace of OS personification, the unauthorized commercial use of OS-tan by Netrunner in the past caused a huge firestorm, and as a check on newcomers due to the large influx of Netrunner readers, a thorough shakeout of those using the OS-tan name within Nijiura and a name change to OS-musume were conducted.

This was due in part to a certain doujinshi circle's OS anthropomorphic doujinshi and a dispute with the authors a short time after the Netrunner Incident.

It became necessary to differentiate between the two, and the female OS personification created in Futaba Channel was called OS Girl and the female OS personification created by other external sites was called OS-tan.

In addition, Troubled Windows, a fictitious work featuring OS-girls in Futaba, was published in Dengeki Daioh Vol. 5 without a copyright agreement, which resulted in the discontinuation of the story for one episode only.

The Troubled Windows OS-tan Fan Book published by Ohzora Publishing is an OS-tan book officially approved by Futaba.
