Overview
Yaruo thread (やる夫スレ, yaruosure) a type of AA work that began to appear on 2channel's Breaking News VIP board around 2007, and refers to AA works featuring Yaruo as the main character, as well as threads featuring such works. Works on the Yaruo series boards are sometimes referred to as Yaruo threads even if they do not use Yaruo as the main character. Note, however, that AA works on boards other than the Yaruo series boards, such as the AA feature-length works and SS Bulletin VIP, are not referred to as Yaruo threads.
On pixiv, it is mainly used for support illustrations for Yaruo threads.
