Detective Conan

Detective Conan (名探偵コナン, Japanese: Meitantei Conan) is a detective manga series created by Gosho Aoyama. It also refers to the anime, video game, and media franchise based on the manga series. In North America, it is known as Case Closed.

Production

Detective Conan (名探偵コナン) was first published in 1994. An anime series was then launched in 1996.

Plot

Shinichi Kudo is a well-known teenage detective who has been credited by the police for his ability to solve mysterious cases. One night, he stumbled across two mysterious men in black conducting a suspicious activity. He was knocked unconscious by these mysterious men and was forced to drink a mysterious drug which they believed would cause him to die. Unbeknownst to the mysterious men, the drug actually shrank him into his childhood body.

With his shrunken body, Shinichi adopts the name Conan Edogawa to avoid being discovered by the mysterious men once again. He moves in with his childhood friend and love interest Ran Mouri, who lives together with his father, the less popular detective Kogoro Mouri. As he lives with Ran and Kogoro, who are unaware of his true identity, Shinichi/Conan secretly assists Kogoro in solving various cases, as he tries to unravel the truth behind the mysterious men and bring his body back to normal.
